Construction Update Notice 08.24.2020 - 09.07.2020

  • Work will take place from 7:00AM to 4:00PM unless special permit allow otherwise.
  • 4th St NE will remain closed to non-construction related traffic and parking. Sidewalks on 4th St NE will not be accessible from Kennedy St NE.
  • Barricade fencing will be shifted along the west of S. Dakota Ave sidewalk as the New Pepco Duct Bank work continues.
  • Dry utility trench work for Pepco is on-going along the west side of S. Dakota Ave sidewalk and across Kennedy St NE & Dakota Ave NE intersection. Vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be maintained per DDOT requirements. Barricade fencing will separate the workers and equipment from the S. Dakota Ave sidewalk.
  • DDOT approved traffic control measures for pedestrians and vehicles will be used for the utility work & restoration work. Travel lanes in both directions on Kennedy St NE near the intersection of S. Dakota Ave will be made narrower during the test hole work. Certified flaggers will be on location to direct traffic when required.
  • Sidewalk restoration work along S. Dakota Ave is anticipated to begin week September 7(+/-).
  • Raze / demolition of the (7) vacant buildings along 4th St NE is on-going.
  • Callahan Alley will remain closed to non-construction vehicles equipment.
  • Driven post construction fence installation is on-going on Ingraham, S. Dakota Ave & Kennedy St.
  • Installation of sediment and erosion control measures will be installed within the construction fence and at storm inlets at Ingraham St & Kennedy St.
  • Sheet piles (Support of Excavation) materials will be delivered to site starting August 24th (+/-).
  • Trench work for the first phase of new streetlights at Callahan Alley is on-going.
