Art Place Construction Update: June 12, 2026

Overview

• Work will typically take place from 7:00AM to 5:00PM. On a case-by-case basis, permitted work may extend to 7:00PM, mainly for clean-up and site preparation for the next day.
• The alleyway off Kennedy Street will be closed during the duration of the project to isolate construction activities from school and pedestrian traffic. Please refer to the attached plan for a visual.
• L.F. Jennings will coordinate with Social Justice School operations to ensure access to the alleyway is provided for maintenance needs.
• Deliveries will primarily come in through the alleyway off Kennedy St. or the loading dock on 3rd St, as shown on the attached plan.
• The last day of classes for Social Justice and Rocketship School students was Friday, 6/12/26.
• Most construction activity will occur within the red outline shown on the attached plan. If work needs to extend beyond this area, notice will be provided through this update letter, and safety
measures will be implemented.

Construction Activities

• Interior building construction activities, will continue the week of 6/8.

• NOTE: Utility work on Kennedy St has been completed. Following DDOT direction next week,
repaving where utility work has occurred will begin. During this permitted closure, flaggers and
other safety personnel will be present to ensure safe passage for vehicles and pedestrians.

• NOTE: Paving will begin in the alleyway, and possibly Kennedy St next week.

• As the project progresses, this Construction Update will be used to notify the community of large deliveries and upcoming construction activities that could impact surrounding neighbors.
